National Unity and Achievements Attained Thanks to It in Tajikistan

National unity stands as one of the fundamental pillars of the strength of the Tajik state and a guarantee of the comprehensive development of Tajikistan. This sacred value in the modern history of our country serves as a symbol of peace, harmony, and the solidarity of all segments of society.

At the end of the 20th century, Tajikistan experienced a severe crisis — a civil war that brought tremendous human losses and economic devastation. During those difficult times, when some sought to divide the country, only the firm will of the Tajik people and the farsighted leadership of the Nation’s Leader, respected Emomali Rahmon, were able to preserve national unity.

In 1997, with the signing of the General Agreement on Peace and National Accord, Tajikistan chose the path of peace and unity, bringing an end to the destructive war. This historic event laid the foundation for the revival of society, the restoration of state institutions, and the strengthening of the legislative system.

In particular, the country’s judicial authorities, in a peaceful and stable environment, began serious work to protect rights and ensure justice. The role of judges as guarantors of fairness, equality, and the freedoms of citizens became especially important. Following the establishment of national unity and political stability, judges were able to perform their duties with greater responsibility and independence, contributing to strengthening the rule of law in the country.

Today, Tajikistan boasts an independent and professional judiciary that serves as a model for protecting rights, justice, and integrity for future generations. Thanks to judicial reforms carried out under the leadership of the Nation’s Leader, judicial bodies are equipped with modern technology, and citizens’ access to justice has significantly improved.

A vivid example of the achievements of national unity is the economic and social progress, as well as the development of culture and science, attained in an atmosphere of peace and harmony. Through the preservation of peace and national unity, we have been able to initiate the construction of grand projects such as the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant — a supreme example of national strength and self-awareness.

At the same time, judicial authorities, as an independent and credible institution endowed with the power of law, play a crucial role in protecting citizens’ rights, restoring justice, and ensuring legal order. Court decisions serve as a mirror of the rule of law in society, reflecting the trust and confidence of the people in the state and its legislation.

National unity is not only a historic date or a political symbol, but above all, it is the responsibility of every citizen of Tajikistan to preserve mutual understanding, stability, and solidarity. We must with all our strength and awareness protect this priceless achievement and contribute to the development of the country and the building of a legal society.

As a judge and representative of the judiciary, I am proud that in an environment of peace and unity, I can diligently and responsibly fulfill my duties and make a worthy contribution to strengthening the rule of law and social justice.

May national unity, this priceless gift and achievement, remain strong and everlasting! May the Tajik people always stand together, and may our beloved Tajikistan be a country of peace, justice, and prosperity for generations to come.
