DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND INFLICTION OF MODERATE BODILY HARM TO A WOMAN
The Court of Isfara city in Sughd Province, in an open court session held on July 10, 2025, reviewed a criminal case against a 44-year-old resident of the Kulkan rural community, H.A.A. (with secondary education, married, father of two children, officially unemployed), under Article 111, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It was established that on May 25, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., inside his residence, H.A.A. entered into a baseless argument with his wife, H.M.A., and deliberately beat her with his hands and feet, causing her bodily harm of moderate severity. As a result, H.M.A. was hospitalized in the trauma department of the city’s central hospital.
According to the conclusion of the city’s forensic medical expert, the injuries sustained by H.M.A. included closed fractures of the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th ribs on the left side and the 7th rib on the right side, as well as a lung contusion and subcutaneous emphysema on the left side. These injuries are classified as moderate bodily harm due to long-term health impairment (more than 21 days).
The court found H.A.A. guilty of committing the crime stipulated in Article 111, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan and sentenced him to 2 (two) years of correctional labor. The punishment is to be served at his place of employment or another location designated by the body executing the sentence, but within his place of residence, with 15% of his wages to be withheld in favor of the state.
